lingo noun

a foreign language, or the vocabulary of a particular subject

intolingo = to love language!

Hi, I’m Carla and I am very much into lingo!  I’m from London and have been teaching English for more than sixteen years.

I’m university-educated and DELTA-qualified and possess a wealth of experience, teaching students of all ages and nationalities and working at some of the leading schools and universities in the world, including International House, the Royal College of Art, and UCL.  I have also been involved in delivering teacher development sessions, as well as teacher training and course design.  I love what I do, and my aim is to share my passion for the English language with you!

Students who study with me can expect the following:

  • a student-centred approach to teaching
  • tailor-made lessons for the individual student
  • a supportive and motivating learning environment
  • a natural classroom manner combined with creative task design

I have a clear, standard British English accent, which my students tell me is easy to understand.  I’ve lived in many different countries and love to travel.  I speak Italian and French, and can understand spoken Arabic and some Spanish and Greek too, so I am sympathetic to the challenges of mastering a foreign language!  My linguistic skills and rich cultural background help me to anticipate and be sensitive to my students’ language needs.  With me you will always feel supported and encouraged.
